More useful than a cutoff lookup

AdmiScan reviews the complete admission decision: profile context, ordered choices, historical fit and gaps that could weaken the list.

01

Correct rank context

Use CRL or the applicable category rank based on the counselling route and category.

02

Quota-aware comparison

Account for Home State, Other State or All India rules where applicable.

03

Programme-level audit

Review the individual institute-programme combination across available rounds.

Audit the decision, not only the rank

JoSAA results depend on more than the college name and rank. AdmiScan matches the applicable rank type, institute, programme, category, gender pool and quota before classifying a choice.

Sample finding

Example: using the wrong quota or rank type

A student compares an NIT option against a cutoff for the wrong state quota or uses CRL where the applicable category-rank record should be used.

Questions before starting

These answers are also visible in the page HTML so students and search systems can understand the service clearly.

Which rank should I use for JoSAA?

OPEN applicants generally use the Common Rank List. Reserved-category applicants should use the applicable category rank where JoSAA publishes and applies it.

Does Home State affect JoSAA cutoffs?

It can affect NIT and certain IIIT comparisons where Home State and Other State quotas apply. IIT admissions generally use All India quota logic.

Does AdmiScan guarantee an IIT or NIT seat?

No. The audit uses historical opening and closing ranks for planning. Current seat availability, official rules and competition determine final allotment.

Make sure your list has a real strategy

Review your choices against available admission evidence and fix avoidable gaps before deadlines close.
