How AdmiScan works
AdmiScan uses structured admission data and explicit audit rules first. It keeps historical evidence, missing data and limitations visible so students can make a better-informed choice without treating the result as a guarantee.

The important distinction
Data and rules calculate the audit
Engineering and NEET Counselling audits match the student’s inputs with the relevant historical cutoff records available in AdmiScan. Masters and MBA audits use programme evidence, budget and readiness rules because there is no JoSAA-style public closing-rank system for those applications.
AI may explain, but it does not decide
AI may turn a structured result into clearer wording or improvement guidance. It does not independently decide whether a college or programme is Safe, Realistic, Ambitious, eligible or affordable.
1. Information used in an audit
The exact inputs depend on the counselling or application type. AdmiScan may use:
Rank and the correct rank type
Category and reservation group
Quota, seat region or home state
Gender pool where applicable
College, institution and programme
Counselling round and seat type
Academic profile and test information
Budget, country and application goals
Documents supplied for MS/MBA review
Incorrect inputs can produce a misleading result. Students should use the exact rank, category, quota and seat type shown in their official counselling documents.
2. How undergraduate cutoff audits are calculated
Step 1 — Find the relevant record
AdmiScan looks for a matching record for the selected counselling, institute, programme, category, quota, gender pool, seat region or seat type, depending on that counselling system.
Step 2 — Compare against historical evidence
The student’s rank is compared with the available opening or closing rank history. Round-wise movement and the gap between the student rank and historical cutoff are used to describe relative risk.
Step 3 — Audit the complete list
AdmiScan checks whether the list is concentrated only on highly competitive options, whether practical backups are missing, and whether any exact data match could not be found.
3. How Masters and MBA audits differ
Universities do not generally publish a single comparable closing rank for MS and MBA admissions. AdmiScan therefore does not present global application results as admission probabilities.
The audit checks available programme evidence together with academic readiness, relevant background, tests, budget, work experience, documents and application strategy. Missing programme-level verification remains visible as uncertainty.
4. What the result labels mean
Ambitious / Reach
The historical evidence is less favourable than the student’s current rank or profile. The choice can remain high in the preference list, but it should not be the only plan.
Realistic / Within historical range
The student’s inputs are reasonably close to relevant historical evidence. This is not a promise because cutoffs and selection decisions can move.
Lower historical cutoff risk
The available historical evidence is more favourable, but the result can still change because of seat availability, category rules and current-year demand.
Needs verification / Insufficient data
AdmiScan could not find enough exact, verified evidence. Missing data is shown as uncertainty rather than being treated as a positive result.
AdmiScan may use slightly different wording in different audit flows, but every label is decision-support based on available evidence—not a guaranteed allotment or acceptance.
5. Current data coverage
Coverage is maintained separately for each counselling and application type. The database review date is not the same as the counselling year.

The Kerala audit uses 2,325 verified cutoff rows across 60 college codes from the official 2025 First, Second and Third Phase final last-rank tables. It compares the State Rank from the CEE Kerala State Medical Rank List with the matching college, course, category and quota group.
Maharashtra NEET

The Maharashtra audit combines official 2025 CAP Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 allotments for government, government-aided and corporation MBBS/BDS colleges. Each opening and closing rank is derived from the minimum and maximum NEET AIR allotted to the exact college, programme, round and published allotment category.

For Masters and MBA programmes, students must verify the current entry requirements, prerequisites, tuition, deadlines and test policies on the university or business school’s official programme page.
7. Important limitations
- Cutoffs and seat availability can change substantially between years and rounds.
- New, renamed or discontinued programmes may not have comparable historical data.
- A wrong rank type, category, quota, gender pool or seat type can change the result.
- Special, spot, stray-vacancy and institute-level rounds may behave differently.
- Fees, deadlines, eligibility requirements and programme pages can change.
- Missing data is not proof that a choice is safe, realistic or eligible.
- The official counselling authority or university decision always overrides AdmiScan.
8. Report incorrect or outdated information
Please report the counselling, college or university, programme, category or quota, round and the result that appears incorrect. An official source link or screenshot is especially helpful.
