R3 → Stray
238 / 265 unchanged
Only 27 exact matched keys relaxed. The statewide median signed movement was zero.
AdmiScan Gujarat NEET Research
AdmiScan analysed 1,569 verified MBBS cutoff rows across 41 Gujarat colleges, six allotment stages, 12 categories and five seat groups. All comparisons in this study use the same NEET AIR rank metric.
Gujarat did not show a broad, across-the-board late-round cutoff relaxation in 2025. From Round 3 to Stray, 238 of 265 exact matched cutoffs were unchangedand 27 relaxed. From Round 3 to the final stored stage, 227 of 262 were unchangedand 35 relaxed. The clearest supported late movement was in Management seats: 16 of 28 exact R3-to-final matches relaxed, with a median signed movement of +70,779 AIR (+22.77%).
Each comparison keeps the college, MBBS programme, seat group, category and NEET AIR metric identical between the two stages. A positive signed delta means the closing AIR increased, which is described here as a relaxation.
| Transition | Exact matches | Relaxed | Unchanged | Tightened | Median signed delta | Median signed % |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| R3 → Stray | 265 | 27 | 238 | 0 | 0 AIR | 0.00% |
| Stray → Special Stray | 264 | 20 | 244 | 0 | 0 AIR | 0.00% |
| Special Stray → final stored stage | 262 | 3 | 259 | 0 | 0 AIR | 0.00% |
| R3 → final stored stage | 262 | 35 | 227 | 0 | 0 AIR | 0.00% |
R3 → Stray
238 / 265 unchanged
Only 27 exact matched keys relaxed. The statewide median signed movement was zero.
R3 → final stored stage
227 / 262 unchanged
Thirty-five exact keys relaxed, but the median still remained at zero.
Management R3 → final
+70,779 AIR
Median signed movement across 28 exact Management matches; 16 relaxed and 12 were unchanged.
The R3-to-final comparison shows why Gujarat should not be described as one uniformly moving market. Government and Management seat groups behaved very differently.
| Seat group | Exact matches | Relaxed | Unchanged | Median signed delta | Median signed % | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Government | 203 | 19 | 184 | 0 AIR | 0.00% | Most exact Government seat-group cutoffs were unchanged between R3 and the final stored stage. |
| Management | 28 | 16 | 12 | +70,779 AIR | +22.77% | Management showed the clearest concentrated late-round relaxation in the supported R3-to-final comparison. |
| PwD | 18 | 0 | 18 | 0 AIR | 0.00% | All 18 exact matched PwD keys were unchanged in the R3-to-final comparison. |
| Local | 10 | 0 | 10 | 0 AIR | 0.00% | The local-seat comparison is small and was unchanged across these exact keys. |
| NRI | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 AIR | 0.00% | Only three exact NRI keys are comparable, so this is too sparse for a broad NRI conclusion. |
The median is the middle exact-key movement after sorting the comparisons. When most keys are unchanged, that middle value can be zero even though a meaningful minority moved. That is exactly what happened after Round 3: 27 of 265 R3-to-Stray keys relaxed, and 35 of 262 R3-to-final keys relaxed, while the median signed movement for both comparisons remained zero.
The quieter late-round median should be read in context. More exact keys moved earlier in counselling, particularly from Round 1 to Round 2.
+4,102 AIR
+4.85%
239 exact matches · 187 relaxed · 52 unchanged.
+409 AIR
+0.56%
259 exact matches · 150 relaxed · 109 unchanged.
+6,478 AIR

233 exact matches · 197 relaxed · 36 unchanged.
Management: the R3-to-final finding is supported by 28 exact keys, so it is useful but still much smaller than the 203 Government seat-group matches.
NRI: only three exact R3-to-final NRI keys are comparable. That is far too sparse for a statewide NRI headline, so AdmiScan reports the sample but does not generalise from it.
Exact-key matching. A comparison requires the same college, MBBS programme, seat group, category and NEET AIR metric in both stages.
Signed movement. A positive delta means the closing AIR increased; within the same rank metric, this is described as a cutoff relaxation.
One rank metric. All 1,569 verified rows used by this study are stored as NEET_AIR, avoiding the cross-rank-system issue seen in some state datasets.
Sentinel safety. Gujarat can use 99999 to indicate “Seat Converted”. Phase 17B found zero stored cutoff rows equal to 99999, and this study does not treat that sentinel as a real AIR.
Aggregate vs matched evidence. Round-level distributions and exact matched movement answer different questions and should not be conflated.
Historical, not predictive. These are 2025 observations, not a guarantee of the direction or size of movement in a future counselling year.
AdmiScan uses the official Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) material as the source authority for Gujarat counselling evidence. Students should always check the current official notices before making a live counselling decision.
No. Among 265 exact R3-to-Stray matches, 238 were unchanged and 27 relaxed. Across 262 exact R3-to-final-stage matches, 227 were unchanged and 35 relaxed. The late-round movement was therefore concentrated rather than statewide across every seat group.
Management showed the strongest supported late-round movement. Across 28 exact R3-to-final Management matches, 16 relaxed and 12 were unchanged, with a median signed movement of +70,779 NEET AIR (+22.77%).
A median of zero means at least half of the comparable exact keys did not move enough to shift the middle observation. It does not mean every cutoff was unchanged. The page therefore reports the relaxed and unchanged counts beside the median.
Yes. The verified 2025 evidence used here is stored as NEET_AIR, so the compared round-to-round rank values share one rank metric.
No. This is historical 2025 evidence. Seat matrices, conversion rules, vacancies and applicant behaviour can change in later counselling years.
Historical movement is context, not an admission promise. Use your category, seat pool, current counselling stage and current official seat information together.
